The
Women's Association of First Presbyterian has been an active part of the church
throughout the past 100 years. It has gone through several name
changes but the purpose has remained Bible-study and mission related.
The dedicated ladies of the association sponsor many
fundraisers. On November 18, 2011, the FPC Women's Association will host a Bean and Stew Dinner Fundraiser from 5:00-6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Adult Tickets are $6.00 and children's tickets are $3.00. In the past these have included a bread booth at the Festival in the Park, a stew,
bean and bake sale, and a Mexican "Pile-On" dinner. Most
of the mission money went to the Border Mission. The ladies have also
lead a congregational collection for back-to-school supplies for the
Goodland Home as well as donations to Dwight Mission and Presbytery
Mission. The women have always done a gracious service to provide funeral dinners, throw
showers for brides-to-be, and host "sip and sees" for the
church's newest members.
